The roots for Bazooka Joe and the Bubblegum Beatdown were planted in mid-2009, when drummer Joe Cass sat in on a few songs during a performance by guitarist Andy and Vocalist / Bassist John's former band, FAMOUS SHAMUS. A few months later, John, Andy, and Joe decided to put together a kick ass new band that would express the diversity of their musical tastes. The band recruited guitarist Anthony to round out the lineup, and Bazooka Joe and the Bubblegum Beatdown was formed. The band has quickly emerged as a new and exciting force in Tri-State music scene. As one bar owner stated, "these guys aren't like every other band...they have a huge variety in their set and they don't do half ass versions of songs, they actually play them right!"
